Trainings and Capacity Building

 

Individualland also conducts trainings ranging from skills development to techniques of advocacy and communication skills. The Lead Focal Person of Individualland's training unit is are as follows:
 

Gulmina Bilal

  Gulmina Bilal is a young and dynamic Pakistani woman with a strong interest in political systems and advocacy. This interest has enabled her to work with a number of leading organizations; within Pakistan and outside like the International Foundation for Election Systems, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, the United Nations World Food Program, the Asian Development Bank ,the Open Society Institute , the Commonwealth Secretariat, London and the National Democratic Institute to mention a few.

Tbr as a counselor with a Masters and M. Phil degree in psychology, she has the distinction of leading a national political advocacy group, the Liberal Forum Pakistan. As the twice elected Central General Secretary of Liberal Forum Pakistan, Ms. Bilal Ahmad designed a number of political advocacy campaigns and also penned a report documenting the experience of women parliamentarians titled, "Women Parliamentarians: Swimming against the tide" Trained as a counselor with a Masters and M. She also prepared a documentary that traced the political contribution of Pakistani women titled, "The journey of Pakistani women through politics" As well as recently published report titled "Revisiting reservations"

She also has a strong interest in electoral reforms and has two publications to her credit on this topic namely Conducting elections for truly public representatives: need for reforms in the Election Commission of Pakistan " and another study documenting the 2005 Pakistani local elections titled, "Power to the grassroots or grass without roots?"

She writes regularly for the opinion pages of leading Pakistani English newspapers like NEWS, THE POST and DAILY TIMES as well as contributing to prestigious magazines like THE NEWSLINE besides being a frequent speaker at various national and international forums.

Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad has also launched a cyber political advocacy group called Individualland (www.individualland.com ) which focuses on pertinent political issues in Pakistan.

Ms.Gulmina Bilal Ahmad is also an international trainer and moderator conducting trainings in South Asia and Europe mostly on communication skills, communication and advocacy using the internet as a tool, seminar designing, strategy development and human rights. She is a regular trainer at the International Academy for Leadership , Gummersbach ,Germany.

Sundas Syeda

  Sundas Syeda of Individualland Pakistan (IL) has a deep rooted interest in researching and understanding the communication strategies of militant organizations as well as the causes of radicalization. This interest has led her to be the lead of a number of counter violence extremism initiatives at IL .She has played a pivotal role in formulating various counter violence extremism tools specifically targeting youth. Sundas has also been involved in developing systems for media militantancy watch and has also worked closely with the police for peace building.  

Farhan Khalid

  Focal Person CVE/ Senior Manager, Individualland Pakistan

I am working as a senior program manager at Individulland (IL) Pakistan and work directly under the executive director of the organization. I have developed training manuals and conducted over 30 capacity building trainings during different initiatives. Other than management, research and capacity building experience, I have a significant international exposure, having taken part in three (04) intensive international seminars in (Germany, Malaysia and Abu-Dhabi), focused on leadership and management and countering violent extremism (CVE). I have also judged a thirteen (13) episode reality show “Young Ambassadors of Peace (YAP)” in which youth from twenty four (24) districts of Pakistan was mobilized on the themes of peace, interfaith harmony and tolerance, with the help of a speech competition. The reality show was aired on a terrestrial channel in the year 2013. I am also an active blogger and write frequently for a leading media outlet in Pakistan.

 

Zulfiqar Haider

  Zulfiqar Haider is now working with Individualland Pakistan since 2010. He isparticularly interested in social research and oversees the program section ofthe organization. He is also involved in capacity building trainings both asa facilitator and trainer. He is the focal person on climate change andconsiderable experience of research on issues like Torture, Gender Equity,Conflict resolution and Peace.
